Trees Are Being Trimmed

This might be one of the most exciting things happening at my little house renovations. The previous owners didn’t take care of the many massive trees in the yard for the 10 years they had the house. So we have someone here getting them back under control. The first order of business was cutting down a hideous cedar tree that was beyond hope. She’s also giving the tree that hangs over the driveway an injection of something so it won’t drip sap for awhile.

We’ve had a crew cutting trees off-and-on for the past few weeks near me. They’re clearing 25ft from either side of the power lines, which will hopefully prevent more power outages. But the crew keeps getting called away to other sites, so it’s a slow process.

They disappeared for an entire week once, because one of their guys fell out of a tree (not here, on another site) and died. The entire crew had to re-train before being allowed back on the job.

This run is pretty cool. I’ve been able to use it as kind of a test track for my CL100 project. Can’t go very fast, though. I’m just a rookie rider, and the ground here is covered in small branches and chunks of wood all over.

We aren’t messing around. My dad knows basic stuff and has done a lot on his own. But we have an electrician, plumber and painter/wall repair all doing work as well. Especially the electrician. He has his own key, he’s here so much.
